The Balanced Scorecard is a management
system (not only a measurement system) that enables
organizations to enhance the clarity of their vision and
strategy to translate them into action. It helps to keep eye
on past, present and future.
Key for Balanced Score Card is to provide feedback around the
internal business processes and external outcomes in order to
continuously improve strategic performance and results. It
helps to focus on human issues other than financial outcomes
that drive those outcomes, so that organizations focus on the
future and act in their long-term best interest. It balances a
financial perspective with customer, process, and employee
perspectives. Measures are often indicators of future
performance.
Implementing the scorecard includes four processes:
 |
Translating the vision into operational
goals; |
 |
Communicate the vision and link it to
individual performance; |
 |
Business planning; |
 |
Feedback and learning and adjusting the
strategy accordingly. |
